1930 CHEVROLET TP50 DUNBAR POPCORN TRUCK
In 1900, Dunbar & Company opened its doors in Chicago, manufacturing popcorn equipment. They started building bodies in the late 1920s. Dunbar coachwork was usually applied to Ford model T one-ton truck chassis. However, early in the Depression, a number of units were built on the Chevrolet half-ton chassis. They were the largest and the last of the Dunbar popcorn wagons with a wheelbase of 131" and an overall length of almost 17 feet. The body was as much glass as it was wood. The Chevrolet was a workhorse with a 194ci inline 6-cylinderand a 3-speed, non-synchronic gearbox and 20" split rims. There were no options; even the single windshield wiper was hand-operated. The suspension was a solid axle with leaf springs front and rear. The Dunbar body was a work of art. This is a great example of a 1930 Chevrolet popcorn truck/body by Dunbar.
